Volunteers Wanted: MPCA Citizen Lake and Stream Monitoring Program
Spring is here and the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency’s Citizen Water Monitoring Programs are gearing up for another great season of lake and stream monitoring across the state! Hundreds of lakes and streams are in need of monitors and we are hoping to recruit new volunteers to join the program this summer.
If you have space in your next newsletter, or are looking for content for your next social media post, please consider sharing our new program video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=58HcXqIdlRU&t=17s, where volunteers reflect on their water monitoring experiences, share why they decided to get involved and encourage others to join them this summer.
In the words of stream volunteer Jason Benjamin, the program “enlightens families to protect our natural resources. Sometimes we forget that on a daily basis,” and lake volunteer Michael Brinda, “it’s one of the best volunteer opportunities out there.” We couldn’t have said it better ourselves!
