BRAINERD, MN – November 11, 2015– Free Woodlands of Minnesota Landowner Handbook is available at the Crow Wing Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) office. The book is for anyone interested in learning how to better manage their forest property.

According to Darren Mayers, Crow Wing SWCD, District Technician “This book focuses on Central Minnesota Counties including parts of Aitkin, Becker, Beltrami, Cass, Clearwater, Crow Wing, Hubbard, Itasca, Koochiching, Mahnomen, Morrison, Ottertail, Polk, Todd, and Wadena. Local landowners share their story on woodland management, tree farms, and creating a tree legacy.

Not Familiar with Forest Lingo? There are clear explanations of area tree types, uses, and vocabulary. The book includes information on; wildlife conservation, invasive plant species, tree benefits, and tree and clean water connections.
